How do you add a new materials to the list of dynamite surface materials?

Our client is looking for more of a browny/green sort of colour rather than the different shades of green for the batter slopes.

I see we are up to 50 channels and we can go to 99.

Hey, if I were to run articulated vehicles i.e. trucks and construction equipment how would I go about getting a vehicle to follow the path then the trailer follow using the right point of articulation?

I’ve looked for tutorials and a few other forums but never found the answer I was after or I was unable to replicate their example. Usually it involves using bones and IK which is usually kinda tricky.

Any ideas?

Having worked with a coupla lads on other jobs, I know I’m not the only one to experience issues when you least need them.

Invariably rendering is the issue. This time round we’ve been plagued by renders that ‘complete’ yet miss frames or renders that just don’t work but don’t error. Plus there’s the I/O errors that we get from our moment of tiredness / desperation.

Who else has issues? What do you experience?

I was trying to make a striped road marking with Raiseed Pavement markers (RPM) inbetween the stripes. Here are the issues I ran into:

The numerical values are in decimal. My scene units are feet and my display units are in feet w/inches. Would be nice if the display units in DVSP dialogs followed the rest of the MAX interface. For making 4” RPM squares placed in between the stripes I had to input .333 for a value.

I was going to ask for road marking offsets along the parent spline but found you coud do it in the materials’ “V” offset value. It would be nice to be able to have this offset in the DVSP Road Marking Parameters panel so you wouldn’t have to dig around in the material’s settings.

It seems that everytime the values of a road marking are changed (either in the RMS editor or in the Parameters panel) a new Sub-object material is created! Huh? This seems rather troublesome and awkward. It is rather easy to inadvertantly make a lot of materials after tweaking your line values! I found that you can clean up the unused Sub-Object materials, within the DynamiteMarkings material, by using the Material Editor’s “Clean MultiMaterial” utility. Maybe this could be handled automatically.

Can the Material ID number(s) be placed in the Parameters panel for Road Markings please. It is very difficult to determine which Sub-Object Material is assigned to a particular Road Mark.

Thanks
