I’v made some custom objects which I’d like to place along my master string. I’v created “ini” and “max” files and put it in the country kit objlib/furniture directory. Dynamite see and place them along my master string…but there seem to be some problems (see attached image files). Some of them are placed “rotated” and some are only partially visible.

So far i’v figured out that when I use 3DS “group” command (my objects are made from several smaller objects imported from autocad and then using “extrude” commad I made them 3D) dynamite don’t see them..only wireframed box appears…when I ungroup them they are still only partially visible…any solution ??

Rather than group the components, you need to combine them into a single object - an editable mesh object preferably.

Select one of the components, and in the Modify tab of the 3ds Max Command Panel, right click the modifier stack to collapse the object to an editable mesh.

Then use the Attach button (further down the modify panel rollouts) to attach the other components to this object. The result will be a single object as an editable mesh.

Dynamite VSP only imports the first object it finds in any 3ds Max file referenced in an INI object definition file.

You also need to check that the pivot point of the resulting object is where you would expect the insertion point of the object to be on the master string. So if you want the base of the object to be placed at the same level as the master string, you need to move the pivot point of the object to the base of the object. This is done in the Hierarchy tab of the Command Panel with the object selected.

Let me know if this helps.
