This release has just been updated to v3.51 to introduce support 3ds Max 2009 and 3ds Max Design 2009.

Limited support for 64-bit versions of 3ds Max and 3ds Max Design. A 64-bit version of the Dynamite VSP plugin folder is now included in the standard Dynamite VSP installation. Although Dynamite VSP will not currently run in 64-bit versions of 3ds Max and 3ds Max Design, these plugin may be used to allow .max files containing Dynamite VSP content to be opened in 64-bit versions of 3ds Max and 3ds Max Design. This support has been added to allow the rendering of Dynamite VSP based scenes in 64-bit based render farms.

DVSP team…you are my heroes !!  cool smile  THX VERY MUCH !!!

Which catalog containing x64 plugin is suitable to use with 3DS max 2008 64bit ??
Max9Plugins64” or maybe “Max2009Plugins64”. I’m asking because I don’t see any “Max2008Plugins64” catalog.

Is this the release that you’d been talking (3.6) about or just 3.5 ported to the new versions?

[edit]

Just read the road map, thanks

Use the Max9Plugins64 folder for 3ds Max 2008 x64.

Plugins for 3ds Max 2009 required a re-compile, which means that 3ds Max 2008 was able to use the same plugins as the previous version - 3ds Max 9.

By the way, we would be interested to know how you get on rendering your scenes from 3ds Max x64. A comparison with x86 would be useful. But post your results in the x64 thread if possible.

I will make some test in my spare time..but not render speed was the issue…but lack of memory in 32bit…Sometimes it is easier for me to make one big scene file with all the cars and bitmaps and terrain and MR daylight system set to high/very high (quality was more important then time wink )...and I tried to render it with 32bit 3DS max and failed…memory allocation was 3gb and that was’n enough…As I have 8gb of ram I am now happy that I will be able to utilize it smile
