What about differences between 3ds max and 3ds viz ( listed below)..are they still the same in “design” version..or maybe smth has changed ??

Sub-object animation - Although animation is possible in Autodesk Viz, it is limited to moving, rotating and scaling an object. Animating changes to the geometry of an object (such as bending an object or animating a slice through an object) is only possible within Autodesk 3ds Max.
Particle Flow Systems - Particle systems are useful for animating effects such as rain, steam, snow, and fountains and are featured only in Autodesk 3ds Max. In practice, this feature is of little significance in civil engineering visualisation.
Global Illumination - A useful advanced lighting solution known as a light tracer provides soft-edged shadows and color bleeding for brightly-lit scenes such as outdoor scenes. The Light Tracer does not attempt to create a physically accurate model, but produces excellent results and is very easy to set up. This feature is only available in Autodesk 3ds Max.
Video Post - Video Post is a self-contained modeless panel which provides composited rendered output of various types of events, including the current scene, bitmap images, and image processing functions. This feature is only available in Autodesk 3ds Max.
Character Studio - character studio is a set of tools specifically designed for animating characters. Character studio lets you create skeletal hierarchies for two-legged characters (called bipeds) that can be animated quickly using a wide variety of methods. If your character walks on two legs, the software provides unique footstep animation that automatically creates movement based on gravity, balance, and other factors. This feature is only available in Autodesk 3ds Max.
Cloth systems - For creating dynamic boat sails, curtains, tarps, and tents, etc. This feature is only available in Autodesk 3ds Max.
Reactor Dynamics - For building interactions between rigid and soft objects as well as ropes, cloth and water surfaces. This feature is only available in Autodesk 3ds Max.
Hair - For creating dynamic grass and reeds that blow in the wind or realistic carpets. This feature is only available in Autodesk 3ds Max

3ds Max Design will have all of this as standard. The only differences between 3ds Max 2009 and 3ds Max Design 2009 (at this stage) will be the exclusion of the SDK (System Developers Kit) from 3ds Max Design, and the inclusion of some new lighting analysis tools.

So all those restrictions in VIZ, will not apply to 3ds Max Design.

Incidentally, if you are an Autodesk VIZ user, please ensure that you have read this.
