Don’t know if it’s just me but this is what the panel looks like here.  Just thought I’d flag it if it is.

Peter

I assume you mean that your Rail Object dialog box is getting cut off on the RHS ?? My dialog box seems fine. Maybe some settings your side ???

regards Mark

Peter - it’s not you. I know what is causing this.

Go to the Windows Control Panel, and select “Display”. Then from the “Settings” tab of the Display Properties dialog select “Advanced”.

I would guess that you are using a DPI setting of 120dpi in WinXP? This causes the scale of ActiveX controls (the ROS Editor “tab control” in this case) to be rendered incorrectly in 3ds Max/Viz rollouts.

This will be fixed in DVSP Version 3.1, but for the time being I would suggest setting this back to the standard 96dpi. However, this will change the scale of icons, toolbars, etc in Windows.

There are a few other panels in DVSP that are affected too. Have you noticed the others?

Hmm… DPI is set to 96.  Mind you, I’ve got XP set to performance, not appearance so it looks like Win2000 and not XP but I thought that would have helped it.

This is the only once I can think of.  Which others do you think would show up like this?  I could check them out.

What font size are you using in WinXP? Normal, large or extra large?

I would guess that you would see a similar problem in the Object Placement Editor, the Position Controller rollout in DVSP Explorer, and the Surface Parameters rollout in DVSP Explorer? Also in import panels such as the Model File Import Panel - do the columns in the list view table “fit” correctly to the window by default?

Peter, I think you’ve actually found a bug in DVSP 3.0 that has gone unnoticed until now.

I was poking around in the code for the Rail Object Editor panel, and noticed that the width of the controls on the right of this panel are incorrectly affected by adjusting the width of the DVSP Explorer panel. I bet you’ve adjusted the Explorer panel width, right?

Ahh… maybe?  I can’t recall.  I can’t change the width of it now but I think I can remember at some point being able to do so somehow confused

Changing the width of the Explorer panel is handled in the DVSP Preferences panel under the “General” tab. I suspect that you are using a value higher than 198 - which is the default.

This issue has been fixed in Version 3.1
