SOS Editor Bug?

Just noticed that when I open the panel and import an SOS file, it ignores the Longitudinal Complexity radio button.  Has anyone else noticed this?  I can set it to either option and open the file and it uses whatever I had set before.  It reads the Segment Count / Length okay though.

Probably should have put this in the Known Issues thread but seeing as though 3.1 is imminent smile

Thanks Peter - I’ll take a look at that.

Cheers.  Mind you, I’ve just applied service pack 3 to MAX 8 and I’ve noticed something else strange that’s MAX related, not Dynamite.  It seems to forget the length of animation for the scene and resets the viewports to something else.

...and have you come across the problem with chainage markers not dynamically updating in DVSP/MAX8? We never actually got to the bottom of this one, but it doesn’t happen in any other version of 3ds Max or Autodesk VIZ, including the newer releases.

Yup.  I didn’t post it on here because I found it before I was on here.  Spoke to Cottle about it though and he’d noticed it.  I’ll try SP3 and see if there’s the same.

Good news, Peter - this fix did find it’s way into Version 3.1.  Thanks for pointing it out.

Okay, just noticed that while this was fixed for the main panel, it’s still a bug in the DVSP Explorer panel under other.  I guess while it’s the same process, it’s not calling the same routine?

Bruce, has this been looked at?

Sorry Peter - missed this one.

Fixed for v3.6, now due at the end of this month.

I have found another instance of this bug.  It’s fixed within the editor and the VSP Explorer however if you modify something within the editor, go to open another file and it prompts with the ‘Do you wish to save…’ dialogue box, the save results in the same error as above.

I mentioned it before but from what I can see it is not yet resolved:

When I want to pick chainage from string I’v got this error:

”—Error occurred in DYNFUNpickChainage(); filename: D:\Dynamite VSP 3\Modules\max2009Plugins32\DynFunctions.mse; position: 46407
— Defined in encrypted script
—  called in BUDYNstartPos.changed(); filename: D:\Dynamite VSP 3\Modules\Rollouts\SweptObjects.mse; position: 14435
— Defined in encrypted script
>> MAXScript Rollout Handler Exception:—Unknown system exception <<

So I can only type in chainage manually…very frustrating rolleyes

We had a look at this one for v3.7, but from what we can tell, this is a 3ds Max bug.  We’ll be reporting this to Autodesk, so hopefully we can get it fixed for the next release of 3ds Max.

I noticed that when there is a spline and terrain (both active and clickable) this “bug” occurs…but when I freeze terrain and only spline is clickable everything works fine.

Ahh… I’m still getting this bug in 3.7 happening when exporting an SOS from the DVSP Explorer panel.
